NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- What a glorious night for a food part on Flagler Avenue with the cool ocean breeze and the onset of sunset with several thousand people enjoying the culinary delights of local restaurants that stet up shop on the street while others there permanently like Clancy's Cantina had food operations inside and outside.

Kenneth Bohannon, a local private attorney, city resident and ambassador of the Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce was excited to see so many people -- residents and tourists alike -- attend the evening event.

"The street is packed and the food is great," Bohannon said.

The New Smyrna Beach Food Festival was put on by the The Flagler Avenue Hospitality Group and the Flagler Merchants Association, which included artisans, live entertainment areas, beer gardens, vendors, displays and exhibits.

During the 5 to 9 p.m. event, local restaurants sold tastes of their best dishes at "sample-size prices."
