Justice for Trayvon: A Search for AnswersTrayvon Martin

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Certainly the slaying of Trayvon Martin has captured the attention of the world. It is a story that originated in Sanford in nearby Seminole County. Though NSBNews.net is a small operation, we believe this is a story that tugs at local heart strings.

And though not directly connected to this incident, there are stories here in Volusia County that are eerily similar to issues of race, interpretation of the law and how we as a community deal with news that impacts our lives for better or worse. Our investigative series is called: "Justice for Trayvon: A Search for Answers."

As a veteran award-winning journalist, this reporter will bring you his insights and reporting to shed light on one of the most impactful tragedies of our time. We'll take you to the story in our unique multimedia approach of words, sound and sight with a series of stories, blogs, photos and videos.

Postal truck catches fire in Edgewater, FL.Photos for NSBNews.net by Thomas Conroy / A mail truck caught fire Thursday in Edgewater as shown here, but the carrier saved the mail inside.

EDGEWATER -- The post office motto states: "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." It doesn't say anything about the mail truck catching fire.

That is exactly what occuured in the 1400 block of Willow Oak Drive in the Florida Shores subdivision when a U.S. Postal Service carrier's mail truck caught fire while he was making his appointed rounds Thursday afternoon.

NSBNews.net to come under trademarked umbrella brand: Headline Surfer

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- There is a passage in the Book of Job that I live by: "The righteous keep moving forward, and those with clean hands become stronger and stronger."

With that said, I am proud to announce that NSBNews.net (also known as VolusiaNews.net) is going to come under an umbrella brand: Headline Surfer (Florida's 24/7 Internet Newspaper). It is legally trademarked under NSB News LLC and all the URL extensions (.com .net .org .info .biz .mobi .us .co and even .xxx) have been secured. In the global economy and the digital age clearly here and now, I've got to keep moving ahead to stay relevant and compete to protect my journalism interests and provide for my family.
