EDGEWATER, Fla. -- A city resident was arrested Friday on four felony counts of animal cruelty after the Edgewater Police Department was notified of several deceased animals and a dog in need of emergency medical assistance inside of a residence.

DELAND, Fla. -- Volusia County has always been synonymous with a need for speed.

The Volusia County Council approved a new kind of speed on Tuesday for some residents in the form of broadband infrastructure.

EDGEWATER, Fla. -- Dense fog and thick black smoke from a controlled burn were major causes of a horrific series of crashes overnight Thursday on both sides of I-95 between Edgewater and New Smyrna Beach resulting in three fatalities and numerous injuries, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

EDGEWATER -- The post office motto states: "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." It doesn't say anything about the mail truck catching fire.

That is exactly what occuured in the 1400 block of Willow Oak Drive in the Florida Shores subdivision when a U.S. Postal Service carrier's mail truck caught fire while he was making his appointed rounds Thursday afternoon.

On personal level, I am compelled to present the following for question, “Can one be a good Muslim and still uphold the values of being a good American?”
