VolusiaNews.net is almost built

For those of you who have discovered Volusia News.net, welcome. Like Noah's Ark, we are working to the best of our ability to make this a reality. We still have a ways to go in developing this one-person operation, but soon you will have another voice where journalism lives. My name is Henry Frederick and I have been covering the news here since the mid-1990s. You may have read some of my stories such as the execution of serial killer Aileen Wuornos or life in impoverished Spring Hill, examples of award-winning breaking news and investigative reporting I've done over the years.

I can carry this website as far as the private sector allows, especially in this economy. But three years into NSBNEWS.net, I feel blessed and I want to continue doing what I love: Reporting the news of Volusia County.

I have a lot to be thankful for: My beautiful wife and my son; my home in New Smyrna Beach, my college education, my extended family and most of all, the blessings of God. I have many friends, who have helped me in my pursuit of online daily reporting, first and foremost, Peter Mallory of NSB, my talented wife, Sera, more than a dozen community bloggers who receive no compensation (Darlene Vann, Capt. Budd Neviaser, Pat Miller, Gerry Tatham there from the start), my Utah-based webmaster, Jed Brown, and marketing specialist Audrey Ostoyic.

I have written thousands of stories over the last two decades and won many prestigious awards. I will continue reaching out to the private sector for advertising revenue that I'm confident will prove a bargain for them (from $50 to $2,500 annually). In exchange, I can continue providing for my family and giving you news that is relevant and informative.

With the success of NSBNEWS.net, 1,100 daily unique visitors, expanding to this second website, is a natural evolution, especially since advertising is limited in New Smyrna Beach.

I can't be everywhere, but I will have my stamp on the stories that matter most to the public. I will write most of the stories and sell most of the ads. I am confident the help will be there when it really matters.

For the record, NSBNEWS.net was the first fully online daily newspaper when it premiered in April 2008. Since then, other news-oriented websites have popped up.

VolusiaNews.net and NSBNEWS.net focus on local news, but also bring the news of the nation and world home to you in rotating headlines and videos from some of the largest media outlets on the planet. We also have the latest Hollywood and sports news around the clock.
