Adjusting to COVID-19 pandemic: Ormond Beach has reopened Nova Community Park and tennis & basketball courts

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – The City of Ormond Beach has reopened Nova Community Park and all basketball courts.

The outdoor tennis/pickleball courts are also open for single play only.

Jenn Elston, spokeswoman for the City of Ormond Beach, informed Headline Surfer in an email media alert. All playgrounds, the fitness equipment at Fortunato Park, and the large pavilion at Nova Community Park will remain closed until further notice as they do not allow for proper social distancing as recommended by the CDC, Elston said

Jenn Elston / Headline SurferThe re-openings occured as of Monday, Jenn Elston, spokeswoman for the City of Ormond Beach, informed Headline Surfer in an email media alert. All playgrounds, the fitness equipment at Fortunato Park, and the large pavilion at Nova Community Park will remain closed until further notice as they do not allow for proper social distancing as recommended by the CDC, Elston said.

"Please remember to adhere to the CDC guidelines to not gather in groups of 10 or more and to keep 6-feet apart," Elston said. "Thank you for your cooperation in helping to ensure the health and safety of all of our visitors."
