Endeavor space shuttle launch scrapped

Well, you can forget about getting up for the 7 a.m. launch of the space shuttle Endeavor. It has been scrubbed by NASA because of a hydrogen leak, according to the space agency.

And that means the North and South Causeway bridges won't be snarled by motorists looking to park and catch a glimpse of the early Saturday morning launch, though traffic will likely be heavy regardless because it's going to be a sunny weekend ands a lot of people will be heading to the beach.

The hydrogen leak was reportedly discovered during the fueling process and the astronauts hadn't yet dressed or even boarded Friday night.

Congresswoman Suzanne Kosmas, D-New Smyrna Beach, had planned to go to Kennedy Space Center with a congressional contingent to watch the launch and discuss the future of NASA. Kosmas' 24th district includes the Space Coast.
