I am feeling somewhat better today after being in agony for the better part of two weeks with an upper right gum infection and the first of two root canals behind me.
There is nothing like a throbbing, exposed nerve to just make the day that much more challenging. Monday was the absolute worst. I was in so much pain. And there's nothing more excruciating than the X-ray thing they stick in your mouth. After that it was the drill to clean out the tooth. It actually took three shots.
After the drilling and spitting up the nastiness of the dental experience, I headed up to New Smyrna Beach City Hall to meet with City Clerk Johnny Bledsoe on a public records request project I have going on the use of Community Redevelopment funds, That's a topic in and of itself I'll save for later.
Bledsoe could see I wasn't doing so good and I left an hour later. By early evening, the numbness from the dental shots had completely worn off and then I had the new and enduring pain from the three needles.
So I did what I should have done before going to City Hall. And that was picking up prescriptions for penicilin and Acetaminophen with codeine. This morning I feel better, except for nausea with the added medicines.
Then comes one more visit to the dentist Wednesday to finish up the job. Who knows where that will lead me, but it can't be any worse than how I've been feeling.
