ECHO advisory committee to meet Wednesday to consider $3.79M worth of community projects

DELAND -- The Volusia County Environmental, Cultural, Historical, and Outdoor Recreation (ECHO) advisory committee will meet from 3 - 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, in the Volusia County Council chambers of the Thomas C. Kelly Administration Center, 123 W.Indiana Ave.

The committee will review and consider the eligibility of the following applicants for the 2010 grant cycle:

- City of New Smyrna Beach, Cross Volusia Trail: $281,853;

- City of Port Orange, Russell Landing: $100,000;

- Wildlife Foundation of Florida, Mosquito Lagoon Marine Enhancement Center: $600,000;

- Volusia County, Parks and Recreation, Dahlia Beach Park: $92,751;

- Volusia County, Parks and Recreation, Sun Splash Park: $217,254;

- City of DeBary, Rob Sullivan Community Park: $250,000;

- Museum of Arts & Sciences, West Wing Reconstruction:$1,600,000;

- City of Daytona Beach, Midtown Cultural and Education Center: $600,000;

- Gateway Center for the Arts, Gateway Center for the Arts Enhancements: $57,000.

Eligible applicants for ECHO grants are cities of Volusia County, nonprofits incorporated in Florida with a local office, and departments of Volusia County Government.
