
ORANGE CITY -- Volusia County Sheriff's investigators are searching for a vehicle missing from the home of an Orange City woman found dead Tuesday afternoon.
The 51-year-old victim, identified as Rabbitt Burns, was found dead Tuesday afternoon inside her home on West Fern Drive just south of Orange City.
Concerned co-workers who came to the victim's home to check on her well-being peered through a window and saw the woman on the ground, Sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson said.

Rescue workers responded to the scene and pronounced the woman dead at 12:31 p.m. Her black, 2003 PT Cruiser is missing from the residence.The victim's vehicle has a Florida specialty tag containing the word RABBITT.
The Sheriff's Office's Major Case Unit is treating the death as suspicious, but hasn't confirmed whether the death is a homicide, Davidson said.
The Volusia County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine how the victim died. Anyone with information about the death or the whereabouts of the missing vehicle is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (386) 736-5999.
