DELTONA -- 9/11/2001 changed us as a country and people. While it initially brought us together in the aftermath of the attack, we’ve since become a little less trusting and so much more polarized in our politics.
Perhaps as we reflect on the past 10 years and honor those who lost their lives in the attack, we will also remember that which made us such a great nation: our compassion, our courage, and a political will that has well served this country since we declared our independence in 1776.
9/11/2001 was a hateful monstrous day.
Fanatics flew jets into our collective national heart and left us weeping.
Now on this 10th anniversary, let us reach out to each other.
For the next 24 hours, set aside the politics that divide us and really listen to each other and to the voices of our community; not just with those with whom you agree, but especially hear the words of those with whom do not share the same thoughts and ideas.
Lay aside harsh arguments and instead offer words of contrition and understanding.
Our country has seen some difficult days since that awful day in September of 2001. Our economy is ailing, our young men and women are fighting on too many fronts, and we shout to be heard over the din of a 24-hour news cycle. Perhaps we need to step back and take a collective breath of fresh air.

May the 10th anniversary of 9/11/2001 be a renewal in our faith, our country and in each other. May we all know that while we have many differences, we have at least one single thing in common and that is that we all share our love for country.
God Bless our beautiful United States of America.
