LAKE MARY, Fla. -- The Seminole County Sheriff's Office has arrested an Orange City woman on mulltiple felony counts of defrauding an elderly Lake Mary woman out of $5,00 to $10,000.

LAKE MARY, Fla. -- The Seminole County School district has seen a dramatic spike in student enrollment in the past couple of weeks.

Dramatic enough to fill the equivalent of three classrooms, district officials say. The sudden influx comes from families leaving Puerto Rico, many of them to Central Florida since the massive devastation from Hurricane Maria.

SANFORD, Fla. -- Seminole County Sheriff’s investigators arrested Allen Pendergrass for his involvement in an armed carjacking incident  in which a large kitchen knife was used to steal a car during a test drive, but he didn't get vey far. When law enforcement caught up with him he got a ride to jail.

LAKE MARY, Fla. -- A 29-year-old Deltona motorist was killed Wednesday when she lost control of her 2001 two-door Acura on Interstate 4during which she left the roadway, clipped a traffic sign and then struck a tree causing her to be ejected from her car, a state trooper said.

Andria Herr is president of Hylant Orlando.

LAKE MARY, Fla. -- Gov. Rick Scott announced the appointment Friday of Andria Herr of Lake Mary to the Central Florida Expressway Authority.

Herr, 53, is the president of Hylant Orlando. She currently serves as a member of the Seminole County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Seminole State College Foundation Board of Directors.

Herr received her bachelor's degree from Stetson University in DeLand.
