NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A 63-year-old Titusville woman was clinging to her life at Halifax Medical Center after the Honda trike motorcycle she was on with her husband collided with a mini-van earlier today in the 3000 block of North Dixie Freeway, New Smyrna Beach police reported.
DELAND -- Jurors heard the accused killer's own admission for the first time earlier today on a recording of a 911 call he made that he was responsible for the murder of a young New Smyrna Beach woman that turned out to be a literal bloodbath.
DELAND -- Seven women and five men have been selected to hear evidence today at the capital murder trial of an Edgewater man accused of murdering 21-year-old Lisa Memro of New Smyrna Beach on Sept. 25, 2006, and then having sex with her corpse.
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- merchants throughout New Smyrna Beach, Edgewater and Oak Hill are being urged by local police to be on the lookout for phony money -- specifically $100 bills. New Smyrna Beach police detectives say so far they have received three reports of fake $100 bills being used at stores in the city.
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A 19-year-old Jacksonville man is being held without bail at the Volusia County Branch Jail on felony warrants accusing him of carkjacking a woman at the K-Mart shopping center in May and taking her purse, police reported.
