NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Were any of your present during the attempted presentation by our local Congresswoman Sandy Adams the other evening at city hall?

Forget what side of the political landscape that you may be on, this was a disgrace for our city, but more for its mayor.

OAK HILL -- I’ve been reading with interest the fiasco that Oak Hill has become. What puzzles me most is why the city doesn’t find it necessary to do background checks on all its employees.

Are you or anyone you know thinking about buying a home? If so, the next few months may be the best time for a long time. Get past media stories of distressed properties and falling prices. This is a market that filled with great opportunities that may not be around much longer.

DAYTONA BEACH -- After telling those who attended his recent Town Hall meeting in Daytona Beach that he had no plans to make a run at the White House in 2012, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-FL, reiterated this position Sunday when he returned to Washington. As a freshman senator, he's working on the issues important to Florida and the nation and needs to concentrate on that for a while.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH – GOP Congresswoman Sandy Adams, whose 24th district includes New Smyrna Beach,  issued a statement from Washington praising the intelligence and military forces involved in the capture and killing of Osama Bin Laden but made no mention of President Obama.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH — Bert Fish Medical Center will host a special community event emphasizing stroke prevention and stroke awareness on Wednesday, May 25, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Schildecker Lobby of the hospital, 401 Palmetto St.

The raid Sunday which killed Osama bin Laden was a fine victory for the United States and the world, and President Obama deserves his share of the credit for it, but does that in and of itself make a presidency or even justify re-election? The answer is "no!"

It's the American intelligence ops and the U.S. Navy SEALS who hunted down and killed Bin Laden for whom we owe the greatest gratitude and honor. Americans everywhere are rejoicing and rightly so: The terrorist mastermind was the embodiment of the slaughter of the innocents which Islamic Terrorism has committed since 9/11.
