That seat is held by Jim Hathaway, who is seeking the district 3 seat on the Volusia County Council.

Rare dolphin beached on New Smyrna Beach

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A rare dolphin usually found 50 miles out in the ocean beached itself earlier today on shore in New Smyrna Beach and was cared for by a beachgoers before Seaworld officials arrivedseveral hours later to transport to Orlando in hopes of returning it to the Atlantic.

The 10-foot-long mammal is a Risso's dolphin, part of the whale family, which feeds on squid.
