“Too much of nuthin’ will make a man a liar” - Peter, Paul and Mary

DAYTONA BEACH -- Beginning last Monday Barack Obama returned to the campaign stage, spewing an interminable series of lies and slogans designed to convince the public and a credulous media that fire is cold, ice is hot and his policies are good for the county and the American people. NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- The sun is setting on July and making way for August, but before the month is over lets take a look at what July brought us for tourism fun.

Yes, the Fourth of July fireworks were were short, thanks to an errant projectile that landed on a tiki hut and caught fire to the straw and thatch roof, but they certainly were pretty while they lasted.

Though the fireworks were to go for about 15-18 minutes, at about the 8-minute mark one of the projectices didn't climb as high as expected from the barge where it was shot from in the Intracoastal Waterway and landed on the roof of the tiki hut on the site of the ciry's former administrative office building, alao known as the AOB site.

All are welcomed to attend, but speaking preference will be given to Oak Hill residents, with few, if any exceptions.

The reality is we've already heard from the politicians and the larger business community, but those who have not been heard from are the citizens of Oak Hill themselves.

Exemptions make Florida Government in the Sunshine a joke

NSB City Manager Pam Brangaccio hiding / Headline SurferDAYTONA BEACH -- Make no mistake about it: Exemptions in Florida's Government in the Sunshine are purposeful in protecting the government and its agents, ands at the expense of the citizens of the Sunshine State.

I have it on good authority that additional complaints have been lodged against the City of New Smyrna Beach and at least two of its key administrators -- City Manager Pamela Brangaccio and City Attorney Frank Gummey.
