One of the most frustrating issues surrounding addictions is, understanding addictions. Most people just go through life assuming that we have the power to stop. But do we? Addiction is everywhere. It is said that one out of five adults has an immediate relative who has struggled with addiction to drugs or alcohol. One fifth of the population.

A few months back I wrote to ask you out there to boycott all Citgo gas stations because of ownership by Venezuela and the anti-American stance of its strongman, Hugo Chavez. Since then the issue has gotten much worse. If you don't know, these gas stations are owned by Venezuela. It's Chavez who hates the Unites States and bashes our president.

Car insurance went from $4,200 a year to $1,700, after I called the insurance company and started questioning the rates. AT&T for my business, I cut by $80 a month by going to a cheaper plan.

Well, Mayor Adam Barringer has floated his plan for comment and while it contains some good parts (especially where he identifies the threats, although he missed few that reside by the water), I guess I should first thank him for using my suggested vision for the city. Meet the Florida Mink -- relative of the weasel family

The Florida mink is one of several furry, dark-colored, semi-aquatic, carnivorous mammals and actually are related to the members of the weasel family that includes ferrets, otters, martens and badgers. Minks are generally found throughout Canada and North America in lakes, rivers and marshes. The population of these animals has decreased in number over the past five decades, according to the Humane Society of the United States.

We are anxiously anticipating the Mayor’s 100 day plan in the next few days. We hope what we see is what is necessary. It will be conventional to only include those long needed and ambitious improvements to the tourist and hospitality sectors, mixed with some modicum of light research and development of “green” manufacturing as goals.
