NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A 30-year-old man was being beaten in his 11th Avenue home Thursday night by a male intruder while a female accomplice rummaged through the residence for items, New Smyrna Beach police said.
The victim, Richard Flatt, was able to break free and call 9-1-1, during which the home invaders ran off, police said of the 5:30 p.m. incident at 812 11th Ave. Flatt received minor injuries.
Officers and a K-9 unit responded and searched the area, but were unable to locate either of the home invaders, Sgt. Valerie Joyce said.
The suspect information is as follows:White man in his late 20s, 5 feet 7 with short black hair and dark skin, wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt and black pants; white woman, in her early 20s, tall and thin with blonde hair, wearing a blue shirt and jeans.
