Who Dat! New Orleans Saints win Super Bowl

Sera and I were pleased the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl over the Indianapolis Colts and the quarterback the pundits had already claimed was the greatest of all time. Peyton Manning may very well become the greatest QB, but on this night of nights, the best quarterback was Drew Brees.

I spoke with Mayor Adam Barringer before the game, and he, too, was rooting for New Orleans.

This was destiny for New Orleans, having endured the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. This was also a game of second chances. For Brees, an injured cast-off from San Diego, New Orleans gave him a new opportunity.

Same thing for former Giants tight end Jeromy Shockey, the Miami Hurricane alumnus on injured reserve when New York upset New England a couple of years ago. And Reggie Bush, the talented all-purpose back from USC, having to live up to the hype of being the No. 2 overall pick.in the 2006 NFL Draft after winning the Heisman Trophy the season before.

It as good to take a break from the grind of what we do to enjoy the game as I'm sure it was for our mayor and his family.

It has been a frustrating last couple of weeks being under the weather, but a game like this really picks you up. We have a busy week ahead with lots of new stories, blogs, photos, videos and advertisements to post.

Sera and I hope you all enjoyed the big game and the time with family and friends.
