Monday Night Raw main event a downer

Monday Night Raw's main event between new WWE Champion Sheamus and John Cena was turning out to be a great match -- that was until outside interference from Wade Barrett and his NXT hoodlums.

Not only did Cena get a beat down, but so dis special refereee Vince McMahon after Sheamus high-tailed it to the dressing room.

There was a so-called "anonymous" general manager that had set up this match after last week's NXT attack on Raw General Manager Bret "Hitman" Hart.

Randy Orton's ring presence minutes earlier ended up being quite a bonus. While the Viper was in the ring warning Barrett he was coming for him, U.S. Champion The Miz showed up and the two went at it. While Orton got the best of the Miz, Edge came out of nowhere to deliver his patented spear on Orton.

In case anyone is wondering, the night before, Sheamus beat Cena in a fatal four-way that included Orton and Edge, with interference from who else? NXT. And Rey Mysterio won the Smackdown Heavyweight belt in a four-way fatal over champion Jack Swagger, Big Show and C.M. Punk.
