NSB Cops: Gunman robs Kangaroo Express

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A man armed with a handgun -- possibly a revolver -- robbed the Kangaroo Express, 2600 N. Dixie Freeway, at 9 p.m. Sunday and fled with an undetermined amount of cash, New Smyrna Beach police said. There were no injuries reported but the clerk "was pretty shaken up," police Sgt. Valerie Joyce said.

The robber's tracks ended on the side of the convenience store so he probably took off in a car, Joyce said, based on tracking by a Sheriff's K-9 unit, which was brought in in place of a vacationing K-9 unit. The robber was described as white and tall, wearing glasses, a yellow ball cap and a "Dirty South" black hoodie sweatshirt. There was no other description of his build. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
