NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Here is how NSBNEWS.net led its story on the early returns showing Barack Obama's historic victory for president: Barack Obama's mesage of "change" resonated big with voters nationally tonight with huge wins in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and the New England States as he closes in on 338 electoral votes compared to 150 for John McCain. The threshold for the presidency is 270 electoral votes.

Obama brought his message of change to Bethune-Cookman University on Sept. 20, to an overflow crowd of several thousand, with one person shouting out to him: "We love you," to which Obama responded, "Love you back" as he spoke of the need for health-care reform, creating jobs and fixing social security.
Three weeks later, McCain made a campaign stop at Allstar Building Materials Ltd., a lumberyard on U.S. 1 in Ormond Beach, with 4,000 well-wishers assembled by sunrise to hear the Arizona senator go after Obama as a tax-and-spend politician, saying in part: "Sen. Obama is more interested in controlling who gets your piece of the pie than he is in growing the pie."
