NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A 51-year-old woman who told a deputy she was "Satan's child" and "had no where to go but meet her maker" was taken into custody for a psychiatric evaluation.

The woman was found wandering aimlessly in the 3300 block of North Dixie Freeway at 10 p.m. Sunday and ran towards the woods when a deputy approached her. She was captured without further incident.

Here is a synopsis of deputy Deputy H. Colon's report on the incident: "She was rambling about Satan, the devil, and fighting an army. She advised she was involved in warfare, had no where to go but meet her maker, and said she was Satan's child. She was irrational, made no sense, was not in a normal state of mind, and wanted to kill herself. It was determined that without care and treatment she was a danger to herself. She was Baker Acted and transported to Act."
