NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- The Crossroads Christian Church in New Smyrna Beach put out an appeal Friday on its Facebook page pleading for prayers in the community for those caught up in the massive devastation in Japan that has claimed 800-plus lives with scores more injured and missing.
"Please pray for those affected by the earthquake in Japan and those in the path of the Tsunami in Hawaii and West Coast of the United States," the Facebook message read.
As it turned out, of course, the Tsunami never reached American territory, which some feared might happen from the powerful 8.9 quake that resulted in the Tsunami.
