Midway through summer and there’s never a dull moment. With babysitting, friends, and oh yeah, doing more school work, I’m keeping busy. That’s right, more school!
I’m taking three classes online on Florida Virtual School over the summer. My final GPA from the school year was a 4.47, but I’m still trying to get ahead and as many credits as possible. I can see myself staying in Virtual School all through high school because I might as well take classes while they’re free.
Another plus is the higher amount of classes I take and ace, the higher up I get in my class and the higher the scholarships. I’m taking two core classes online and they’re World History Honors, (because I’m taking two AP History classes next year) and Marine Science Honors. I’m also taking driver’s ed which I hope to finish as soon as possible so I can get my permit.
Other than Virtual School, I also have summer homework for one of my AP classes. Yeah, the work never stops but one day it will pay off and I among others will get our recognition.
I’ve also kept up with earning a small, but still worth it, income from babysitting. Besides, constantly babysitting keeps me active. But the best part of my free time this summer really is the friends I have around me. Just the time to relax with them and head to the beach that’s so close in distance but always so far away in our minds during the school year is great.
I couldn’t ask for better people around me in the vacation spot everyone else wishes they were at and for a good reason.
