NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Pulitzer Prize winning author Robert Olen Butler will discuss his literary works and read from his new novel, “A Small Hotel,” at the New Smyrna Beach Regional Library at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10.
Butler has published 12 novels and six volumes of short fiction, including “A Good Scent from a Strange Mountain,” which won the 1993 Pulitzer Prize for fiction.
Butler has won two National Magazine Awards in fiction and two Pushcart Prizes.
His stories have appeared in The New Yorker, Esquire, Harper’s, The Atlantic Monthly, GQ and The Paris Review. They also have been chosen for inclusion in four annual editions of “The Best American Short Stories.”
A book signing will follow the presentation, and copies of “A Small Hotel” and other select titles will be available for purchase. The free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
