NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- File this one under dumb criminals: A man arrested on bank robbery charges wore the same shirt at a strip joint Sunday Night that he had on when he walked into the TD Bank earlier in the day and robbed it, hoping to woo the ladies with some cash for hot sex. But he was so caught up in his carnal desires he forgot to change the shirt with the Nike slogan known the world over -- "Just Do It" -- where he was instantly recognized from TV news reports.

Conrad, 31, was spotted by an employee at the Lollipops Gentlemen's Club in Daytona Beach cozying up to the gals on stage. The Nike shirt stood out from the TV news and the observant employee called the Daytona Beach cops.

Arriving officers took him into custody just after midnight and charged him with giving a false name, after which he confessed to committing the robbery, New Smyrna Beach police Detective Sgt. Eugene Griffith said.

"Daytona got a call from Lollipops saying they saw him with the same shirt on the TV news," Griffith said, referring to surveillance photo still given to media outlets.

Asked if Conrad gave a reason for committing the robbery, Griffith told NSBNews.net he wanted cash so he could solicit the strippers for sexual favors, explicitly citing in one crude word what he was hoping for.

In addition to giving a false name and armed robbery with a handgun, Conrad was also charge with possession of cocaine. He was being held at the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach.

Conrad, who told police he's homeless was initially booked as a "John Doe" because he wouldn't give his name, but fingerprint analysis revealed his true identity. He walked into the TD Bank just after noon Sunday and passed the teller a note demanding cash, Griffith said, before running from the bank.

New Smyrna Beach set up a perimeter with help from Volusia County Sheriff's deputies and a helicopter, but he was able to get away. No word from the cops if he included "Just Do It" in his robbery note or if he was sporting a pair of Nike sneakers in his getaway.

Below is a synopsis of the accused bank robber's jail profile.
