Counseling Center of New Smyrna Beach welcomes Anthony Capozzi, MD

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- The Counseling Center of New Smyrna Beach Florida welcomes the newest member of its team of expert clinicians, Anthony Capozzi, MD.

Dr. Capozzi will begin seeing patients this month. He is a board certified psychiatrist with 22 years experience in behavioral health treating adults and adolescents.

"His philosophy is helping patients to achieve their optimal level of functioning to lead more productive and fulfilling lives," said Shane Porter, director of the counseling center.

Dr. Capozzi completed his residency at St. Vincent Medical Center in Staten Island, New York. He completed an additional year of training at Booth Memorial Center in Queens; New York affiliated with New York University School of Medicine. He has worked at a variety of clinical settings including inpatient at Rockland Psychiatric Center in Orangeburg, NY., and community mental health centers in both Rockland and Westchester counties in New York. He has achieved Master Psychopharmacologist status with the Neuroscience Education Institute and is a Buprenorphine Certified Prescriber. He has been awarded a citation for Outstanding Service for the Residents of Westchester County Community Mental Health where he worked in the Peekskill, NY, office for almost 18 years.

Dr. Capozzi served in both the Associate Director position and the Acting Director position for those years. He has worked in the private practice setting in Rockland, Orange and Dutchess counties in New York. He has worked for Florida Health Care Plans in Holly Hill.

Dr. Capozzi's rates are as follows: Initial Consultation – $200 for 1 hour Pharmacotherapy; follow up visit – $75.

Dr. Capozzi is a credentialed provider and is currently accepts Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield as an out of network provider, Cigna, Children’s Medical Services, United Health Care, Tricare Humana, Amerigroup of Florida, Magellan and Medicare.
