NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- I felt very sad producing a tribute video in honor of Peter Mallory, who died Friday. I cried, then I started thinking about all those moments full of joy we had together over the past four years. It brought to my mind all the time and sacrifices made together in creating and building this Internet newspaper from scratch.

Peter MalloryPeter was an honest, kind and down-to-earth person. He always enjoyed talking about economics and was amazed by how the digital media has transformed how the world gets its news. I remembered he used to tell me he liked to learn other languages, besides English and German. He would bring me Spanish-language magazines that he received by mail.

So I asked him one day: "How come you buy magazines in Spanish?" And he said, "You would be surprised how many words I can understand in Spanish, I just don't know how to put them together in a conversation like you" referring to my Latina heritage, and we both laughed.

Peter was grateful to me for all of my hard work for the website. Peter Mallory was a gentleman. I will always remember him with love and respect. It's a blessing how his ideas, opinions and images will live forever on the Internet through NSBNews.net, the website that he co founded together with my husband Henry Frederick. In the last few months, I didn't get to see Peter because of his health. He always stopped in to say hello while picking up my husband to go out to breakfast with him.

Peter had a beautiful soul and a "heart of gold." He will always have a place in my heart.
