DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- If there is one thing she has proven over the years for her community children's charities, Forough Hosseini is not afraid to ask others to open their wallets or in this in this case, the bank vault.
But it's no strong arm robbery. Nor is it a case of a modern-day "Robinhood" robbing from the rich to give to the poor. Forough Hosseini just has the winning formula in getting others to pony up money.
How does Forough Hosseini do it?
For real, how does she pull it off?
Well, let's start with that winning smile.
And a winning wardrobe: This gal is a great dresser with the accessories to match: shoes, belts, earrings, watch.
But mostly, she has the type of charitable causes the corporate world has trouble saying "no" to, even at the local level where the age-old adage is "Charity begins at Home."
Whatever the winning formula, Hosseini isn't going to give away her trade secrets -- or should we say, her winning formula beyond the obvious.
Forough Hosseini, vice president of ICI Homes, the company she helped her husband, Mori Hosseini, found way back in 1979, did just that: Convince Cynthia Politis, Bank of America market president for Daytona Beach/Cocoa Beach, to hand over an endorsed check for $5,000 earlier this month for Hosseini's-inspired Food Brings Hope charity weekend food bag program.
Food Brings Hope’s weekend grocery bag initiative involves the distribution of 40-pound bags of nonperishable food items and six pounds of frozen meats that can feed an economically disadvantaged family of four for an entire weekend.
And with some 200 children and their families benefitting, every penny brought in counts.
After all, $5,000 certainly is nothing to sneeze at, now is it?
