DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The 2021 Daytona Truck Meet – billed as the largest truck show in the world – is under way and expected to run through Sunday.

The event is expected to draw 5,000-plus custom trucks and over 35,000 spectators to the Daytona Beach area during the three-day weekend.

The greatest concentration of traffic will be around Daytona International Speedway and One Daytona, especially for all show car activities.

Events will take place daily at the Speedway between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. except for Sunday, when the hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. One Daytona has events until midnight through the weekend.

"Once the events conclude, we are anticipating traffic congestion along Atlantic Avenue/A1A, as has been normal during past versions of this event," Messod Bendayan, spokesman for Daytona Beach police, told Headline Surfer. "Police and traffic control officers will be on-duty in the area of the Speedway and along Atlantic /A1A to assist with event traffic and local traffic. We will not tolerate parking lot gatherings."
