What Chamber Debate? How can you call the Dog & Pony, or should I say the Bob & Bob show, a debate, when the 30-plus non-Chamber citizens that were present were not allowed to participate in asking questions of the candidates beyond the formulaic P.R. spin.
From my vantage point I would rather call it a farce, which while not properly describing what took place, is the only word fit to print in this blog.
I was waiting for the Talking Bobs, Bob Lott, president of the Chamber and owner of the weekly Observer newspaper, and his editor, Bob Burns, to start dancing or holding hands with each other at any moment!
It was such a joke that I got up and left after the first question.
Hot off the press: There will be news coming out shortly regarding the $5.5 million-plus taxpayer dollars forked over by Bert Fish Hospital to the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) all these years under very questionable circumstances,
which may now demand an investigation beyond the present audit that County Commissioner Hayman is calling for, none of which comes as a surprise to this party.
Not one of these dollars ever went to the medical care of the indigent and/or poor, which was what the taxes were collected for in the first place.
Stay tuned for more morsels from the perch.
