Blogger Gerry Tatham: An open letter to Sen. Bill Nelson on health-care reform

Dear Senator Nelson:

Your argument that “the devil is in the details” fails to list the kind of “details” that make health care unaffordable for America. One detail is the traitorous, wimpy, back-stabbing politicos willing to finance business interests at the expense of those they are elected to represent.

Anything that benefits the tax-paying citizen is labeled “socialist,” but Blackwater criminals, war criminals of the Republican odor and barons of big business are backed by the billions. And, of course, you’ve got yours when it comes to the health insurance you enjoy at tax-payer expense.

If we have no right to that coverage, neither have you!

Insurance, oil and pharmaceutical extortionists thrive while the tax-payer dies for lack of medical insurance. In the wealthiest country in the world we, who "are the government," cannot afford any governmental benefits. There’s never any problem for Congress when it comes to waging and financing wars, war-criminal activities, religious freaks, insurance racketeers, who can afford a million dollars a day to lie, cheat and steal at our expense. yet you cannot find the money or the decency to do what 75 percent of us have elected you to do: Reform health care with a public option.

You and Congressmen Baucus and Grassely represent nothing but the Republican rape-off, serving your own careers and idealistic interests while obstructing every effort to bring Americans out of the mess Congress has created. Our only hope is that there will never be money or power-backing enough in all Lobbyland to put you back in office as a reward for betraying the trust of the suckers who voted you in.

I will, personally, dedicate myself to that cause on the grounds that we cannot afford you.
