BREAKING NEWS: Man dead in deputy-involved shooting on Christmas Eve in Deltona

DELTONA, Fla. -- A man was shot and killed by a Volusia Country Sheriff's deputy on this Christmas Eve on Gaucho Circle in Deltona, near Deltona Bouvard.

VCSO officials said no deputies were shot in the 9 p.m. incident with yellow crime scene tape cordoning oft two neighboring homes.

Sheriff Mike Chitwood told TV news camera crews from Wesh Ch. 2 and WFTV Ch 9. on the scene that he wanted to review body cam footage and go over with his investigators what prompted the shooting before providing any details as to what prompted the shooting and the names of the deceased and the deputy. Headline Surfer is the the third media outlet to report on the fatal shooting.

No other information was released by the VCSO except to say no deputies were injured.
