
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A Chinese food service carrier attempting to make a delivery to a local business was robbed at gunpoint last night by two armed men when he tried to get out of his vehicle in the 400 block of Palm Street on the Westside, New Smyrna Beach police said.
The victim handed over the food and $120 in cash. He was not injured in the 8 p.m. incident, in which the two robbers ran north after getting what they wanted, police Sgt. Shane Riggle said..
Police did not identify the victim who works for the China Restaurant, 753 3rd Ave.
Police searched the immediate area, but could not locate the robbers, one of whom was carrying a silver handgun. The robbers were described as black men, 20 to 25 years of age, wearing dark hoodie-type jackets pulled over their heads and dark pants. One of the robbers was 5 feet 8 and 160 pounds and the other was a little bigger at 6 feet and 180 pounds.
