Elderly DeLand woman missing since Thursday found in woods

DELAND -- Marjorie Reynolds, a 75-year-old DeLand resident reported missing three days ago by a family member, was found this afternoon, conscious and alert, but dehydrated in a wooded area near the 1700-block of Marsh Road between Old Dayton Road and Highway 92.

She was located at 1:45 p.m., Volusia County Sheriff's spokesman Brandon Haught said.

As many as 200 people helped in the search for the missing woman, he said, including personnel from the Orange City Fire Department.

A Sheriff's Office helicopter and bloodhounds also were used in the search, and a reverse 911 call was sent out to residents in the area to be on lookout for Reynolds. She had left on foot from her home at 2203 Orange St., just off of Mash Road, at
approximately 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning. A family member mounted his own search and then contacted the Sheriff's Office at 1:44 p.m. on Thursday when he couldn't find her.
