Florida Highway Patrol: Nearly a dozen motor vehicles involved in 3 crashes on westbound I-4 early this morning between DeBary & Sanford

SANFORD, Fla. -- Nearly a dozen motor vehicles were involved in three separate crashes on I-4 in DeBary and near Sanford, resulting in a Manic Monday traffic mess, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crashes occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Monday on the westbound side of I-4 near U.S. 17-92. All told, there were three separate crashes involving 11 vehicles, the FHP said:

Two cars were involved in the first crash, with one person transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.

Seven cars were involved in the second crash, including a semi-truck, as drivers were reacting to the first incident. 

The third crash involved two cars. There were no reported injuries requiring ambulance transport in the latter two crashes.
