DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Rain is in the forecast for each of the next six for greater Daytona Beach-Orlando with a 70 percent chance of precipitation late this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne.
Here is the forecast for coastal regions along Interstate 95 and further inland along Interstate 4:
Today: Showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly after 2 pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 91. South wind around 10 mph. The chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly before 8 pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low of around 75. South southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm. The chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 11 am and 2 pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 103. South wind 5 to 10 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60%.
