ORLANDO, Fla. -- Rocky Mountain Construction, a former employer of the maintenance worker who fell to his death earlier today posted a remembrance of him on its Facebook page.
Here is the post honoring Jacob Kaminsky:
We first met Jake at IAAPA a couple years ago...he was one of very few coaster enthusiasts that has ever visited our booth with the intention of landing a job in the field installing our coasters. He had experience working at Sea World, so we snagged him and he moved to work on Iron Gwazi. Jake was an exceptional young man, loved roller coasters and took pride in his work. Due to COVID19, we had to temporarily lay Jake off in March, but he did join the RMC team again in July/Aug to complete Iron Gwazi. He recently joined forces with another company and sadly, had a terrible fatal accident while working on The StarFlyer in Orlando today.
We have never lost one of our own before....our guys go into work everyday knowing the dangers of climbing at heights, erecting these amazing creations for the world to enjoy. But, when tragedy strikes, it is a hard pill to swallow.
To his family of whom we have never met... you raised a very hard working, determined, responsible, honest young man. You should be very proud. We send you our sincere condolences and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
