NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Former Zone 2 City Commission candidate Steve Sather wrote the following in support of mayoral candidate Adam Barringer:

Voters, Cost cutting, wage and spending controls, are important.

However, they are only half of the answer to keeping taxes down. The other half of the answer is revenue.

Managed growth, regulations that work with real world business plans, and leadership that will embrace investment, are the method. "No growth," regulatory suffocation of value and use, downzoning and re-zoning after the fact, are a big part of the problem.

We have lost too much property value, and therefore taxable value, too many potential jobs, too many economic days of operation, and too many potential investors, under those policies.

With the right leadership we can and will preserve our history, our ambiance, and environment in the process of establishing a vibrant economic future for everyone. We need to attract and encourage by policy, investment and reinvestment in our community. We need economic growth and we need jobs.

These are just a few of the reasons I support Adam Barringer for Mayor of New Smyrna Beach.
