Sera and I have spent much of our two-plus years of marriage here in the heart of New Smyrna Beach. This extended Memorial Day weekend was no different.
On Saturday we had lunch at Clancy's Cantina on Flagler Avenue where we covered Wine Walk at Art Walk at with a live story on the Mac laptop.
Then it was off to FishStock 2011 at Riverside Park for coverage that resulted in two stories, plus lots of photos and a cool video. Sunday was spent fighting the traffic with the North Causeway draw bridge going up for some big boats, followed by some time at the beach. Not for play, of course, but to shoot a video, from which the above photo slide-show video was produced by Sera.
On Monday, I was without Sera for the Memorial Day celebration at Riverside Park, which resulted in not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven, but eight videos. When Sera returned from her family, she produced every one of those videos, including the awesome beach video at the top of this blog.
So where did I get my rest and relaxation? Behind our Sugar Mill home is a huge community pool that is available to the 20 homeowners in our neighborhood. Since most of them are snowbirds, that means the pool is ours.
That is a Godsend for your hard-working website newspaper guru and his super-talented spouse. Everyone who sees us in greater New Smyrna Beach knows how much we love New Smyrna Beach and why we are so proud to call it home.
By the way, for any of you who missed Sera's weekend video production, here they are again. We hope you enjoy them and we thank you for allowing us to deliver real news for a 21st-century media hungry community.
