NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Today is a day for all New Smyrna Beach residents to celebrate the meaning of community and share in the holiday spirit. By land and by sea (the latter really the river).
The annual NSB Christmas Parade begins at 4 p.m., starting on Flagler Avenue and winding its way across the North Causeway and onto Canal Street. This is followed by the Boat Parade on the Indian River, sponsored by the New Smyrna Beach Anglers Club.
Mayor Adam Barringer is the parade's grand marshal and one of the judges for the boat parade. The home base for the parade is in the Riverside park near the Brannon Center.
And Norwood's restaurant concludes its three-day holiday wine and food festival today as well.
Be safe and enjoy the holidays.
