OAK HILL -- A 47-year-old motorist killed Tuesday in a car accident Tuesday on Interstate 95 in Brevard County was identified today by the Florida Highway Patrol as Oak Hill resident Artice Lee Smith
Smith was pronounced dead on arrival at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne following the early Tuesday accident in which he apparently reached down for something, over-corrected his sterring and veered into the median. The car overturned and he was ejected.
Smih was not wearing his seat belt, the FHP said while southbound on the interstate between mile markers 218 and 219. He was airlifted from the scene in an attempt to save his life. The identification was delayed so relatives could be notified of his death.
