ST. CLOUD, Fla. -- An Osceola County code enforcement officer was caught on surveillance camera video stealing a package containing a phone from private property.
Here is a synopsis of what occurred as described by the Osceola County Sheriff's email alert to Headline Surfer: On May 7, deputies responded to a larceny report at 5080 Maple Tree Lane in Saint Cloud. The complainant advised that a package containing a $600 cell phone was delivered to her property and stolen by an Osceola County Code Enforcement Officer. The complainant's surveillance cameras captured the Code Enforcement Officer’s actions.
OCSO detectives from the East Property Crimes Unit took over the investigation. They viewed the video evidence and confirmed that on April 16, a uniformed code enforcement officer, identified as Vanessa Ramon, arrived at the property in a white county pickup truck and removed a package lying near the main door of a camper. Ramon then tossed the package into the bed of her vehicle before driving off.

Ramon was interviewed, arrested, and transported to the Osceola Jail without further incident. She was charged with grand theft, a violation of FSS 812.014(2)(d)1, a third-degree felony.
