Volusia County Library Center announces fall program schedule for children and teens

DAYTONA BEACH -- The Volusia County Library Center – City Island will offer a variety of free programs for children and teenagers this fall.

• Toddler and preschool Storytime begins at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays for children 5 and under.

• Family movies will be shown at 2 p.m. Sundays for children and their parents or caregivers. Parents may bring snacks and drinks. Upcoming movies include “Hannah Montana: The Movie” Oct. 4, “CinderElmo” Oct. 11, “Kiki’s Delivery Service” Oct. 18, and “Halloweentown” Oct. 25.

• Young adult movies are shown at 2 p.m. Saturdays. Upcoming movies include “Princess Mononoke” Oct. 3, “Bring it on: Fight to the
Finish” Oct. 17, “Addams Family” Oct. 17, “Inkheart” Oct. 24, and “Gremlins” Oct. 31.

• Children ages 12 and under can play Mario Kart, Disney’s Dance Dance Revolution, Carnival Games and Wii games from 2 - 4 p.m.
Wednesdays. Sign-up starts at 1:45 p.m. each day.

• Young adults ages 11 - 19 can play Rock Band, Mario Kart, Dance Dance Revolution, Wii Sports, Wii Play and Carnival Games at 3:30 p.m. Thursdays.

• A Halloween craft program will be offered at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, for ages 11 - 19.

• All ages are invited to Family Stories ‘n’ Crafts at 10:30 a.m.
Saturdays.

Groups must call in advance to register for programs.
