Volusia County library services web site address changes

DELAND -- Volusia County’s Library Services will be consolidating its Internet presence by discontinuing the www.vcpl.lib.fl.us Web address and directing all users to http://volusialibrary.org.

Volusialibrary.org offers the same array of features and access as the other site. The change was made to make the library system’s primary web address similar to those of other services of Volusia County Government and easier for the patrons to remember. The site also can be accessed from Volusia.org when users select “library” from the drop-down menu or right-side menu bar.

While at the www.volusialibrary.org, users can check out two of the library's newest services - downloadable audio books from Overdrive and Mango languages.

The newest software from Overdrive, http://overdrive.volusialibrary.org, allows patrons to download any of the available audio books to an iPod, MP3 player, or personal computer.

The library's newest online database, Mango languages, is an online language-learning system that focuses on teaching actual conversation skills for a wide variety of languages. Mango also offers a translation tool to help citizens translate between languages.

Volusia County’s Library Services web site offers library card holders many services, including reserving items online, changing contact information or checking financial history, and requesting e-mail notification when the library adds materials by a favorite author or about a particular subject.
