
DELAND -- The Volusia County Environmental, Cultural, Historical, and Outdoor Recreation (ECHO) Grant-In-Aid program is starting the 2009-10 grant cycle with two workshops Aug. 11 and 14.
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits that have an office in Volusia County, municipal governments within Volusia County, and departments of Volusia County Government. Eligible applicants who wish to apply this year must attend at least one of the two workshops.
● The first workshop is from 8 a.m. - noon Tuesday, Aug. 11, in the second floor training room of the Volusia County Historic Courthouse, 125 W. New York Ave., DeLand.
● The second workshop is from 8 a.m. - noon Friday, Aug. 14, in the third floor meeting room of the Volusia County Lifeguard Headquarters and Administration Center, 515 S. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach.
The workshops are open to the public.
ECHO grants are provided through an annual competitive application process and are for acquiring, building, or restoring environmental learning centers, cultural facilities, historical/heritage facilities, and outdoor recreation facilities open for public use, said Margaret Hodge, program coordinator.
