Mrs. Frederick wants to see Dwight Howard in the Nike puppet commercials now that the Orlando Magic have ousted the favored Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James.
She thought Nike blew it by not introducing Howard in the puppet commercials while it had a chance. After all, Howard, the NBA's "all-defensive player of the year," had another monster series, especially tonight, scoring 40 points in closing out the series in six games.
Now its Howard and the Magic versus Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers disposed of the upstart Denver Nuggets and all-star forward Carmelo Anthony in six games.
Mrs. Frederick didn't like the Nike puppet commercials, featuring Kobe and LeBron puppets trash talking each other as the two best players in the NBA. But wait... What about Superman, that's right, Dwight Howard.
Perhaps the Lakers will go in as the favorites in the NBA Finals, but these aren't your Big Brother's Lakers with Shaq and Kobe.
This is an exciting time to be a Florida or Sunshine State sports fan. Just think: Tampa Rays in the World Series last year and the Orlando Magic in the NBA Finals this year.
No wonder Mrs. Frederick is so excited. By the way, this blog is being written in St. Petersburg, where Mrs. Frederick and I will be taking in our second Rays game of the season. We could see the fireworks from our hotel room following the Three Doors Down concert following the Rays game.
Mrs. Frederick made fireworks of her own, screaming in support of Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic.
