Rough surf Sunday night still draws a crowd

More than an hour after the beach was closed to vehicular traffic near the Flagler Avenue Approach in New Smyrna Beach on this muggy Sunday evening, more than a hundred people continued enjoying their time on the hard sand and in the rough surf, even though it's probably not a good idea to be in the water when lifeguards have left for the night.
