Polls are open; so vote, pretty please

Sera and I took advantage of Early Voting and cast our votes Thursday, but today is your last chance fellow Smyrnans, who have not done so already, to go out and cast your vote in today's big primary. Pretty please.

Certainly we can do better than the 2007 primary when a paltry 11 percent turned out for the one race when incumbent City Commissioner Jim Hathaway romped to victory over two much lesser knowns.

Think what you want about the qualifications of the nine candidates for three races -- mayor and two commission seats -- but remember that every vote counts in getting your candidate of choice elected.

I'm not going to try and sway you one way or another on who should be elected. That's up to you. Just remember one thing: You criticism after the fact of how they are performing is weakened if you did not take part in the Democratic process.

That's it. No more lectures. Thank you...
