
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Police are looking for a man with a silver handgun who threatened people living in a home on Sinnka Street before running off just before midnight Sunday.
Police identified the suspect as Dwayne Morris, 21, who is 5 feet 9 and 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Here is a synopsis of what happened in the 11:53 p.m. armed burglary as written by Sgt. Shane Riggle in his report: Officers responded to the 500 block of Sinnka St. in reference to a black male that was waving a gun in the air. Upon arrival in the area, officers learned the above listed suspect entered into the residence at 519 Sinnka St. armed with a silver a handgun. The suspect threatened to kill the occupants inside before fleeing from the residence on foot. An area search for the male was conducted with negative results. The suspect is being charged with armed burglary and two counts of aggravated assault."
